Priority Governance
Premium operating support

Someone Should Own AI Governance. It Doesn’t Have to Be a Full-Time Hire.

Control Center is built to be operated by your own team. Fractional AI Governance is the option above it: Priority Governance operates the recurring governance process with you, month after month — the AI inventory, the reviews, the decisions, and the follow-through. Leadership retains a current view of what needs attention, and every decision that matters.

Discuss your current AI use, governance ownership, and leadership priorities.

The foundation

Control Center Comes With It

Control Center is where your AI rules, approved decisions, exceptions, and scheduled reviews live. It is the foundation under everything on this page, and it is included here. Control Center is included while Fractional AI Governance is active — there is no separate Control Center subscription on top of it.

If you have an internal owner who can operate it, Control Center on its own is the right place to start. Fractional AI Governance is for organizations that would rather Priority Governance operate it alongside them.

What this covers

The Recurring Work You Stop Having to Chase

Each of these has to happen every month whether or not anyone is assigned to it. This is what it looks like when someone is.

AI Inventory

You can answer “which AI tools are we actually using?” without a scramble. We keep a current record of the tools and uses that matter enough to govern — your material AI activity.

New Tool and Use-Case Review

Someone wants to use a new AI tool. It gets reviewed against the same seven areas of AI governance every time — the seven pillars behind our free QuickScan — so you get a practical recommendation, not a maybe.

Decision Log

A decision made in March does not get reopened in October because nobody remembers making it. What leadership decided, and why, is written down where the next person can find it.

Risk and Action Register

Open risks and actions are prioritized, each with a name against it and a current status — so nothing important sits in an inbox with nobody responsible for it.

Vendor Governance Questions

When you learn that a vendor has added AI features to a product you already use, we help review what changed and frame the questions worth putting to them.

Policy and Control Follow-Through

Your written rules do not drift away from your actual practice. As decisions get made, the drafts and process rules are updated to match.

Exceptions and Escalations

The one-off request that does not fit the rules gets an answer, on the record, from the person who should be deciding it.

Monthly AI Governance Status Brief

Once a month leadership reads one short brief: what changed, what closed, what is still open, and what needs a decision from them.

Specialist Escalation

You are not left guessing when something needs a lawyer, a security professional, or HR. We flag it, bring in the right person, and track the hand-off to completion.

The first 90 days

Establish the Baseline, Then Operate the Governance Rhythm

Engagements generally begin with a focused 90-day pilot. First we agree what your rules are today and write them down, so everyone works from the same version — your governance baseline. We build it around the AI activity you already know about, then run the monthly process above. The record grows through that process, rather than trying to catch every AI interaction at once. At Day 90 you decide what happens next; nothing renews automatically.

Days 1–30 · Establish

Establish the Foundation

We establish the governance baseline: the initial AI inventory, the risk and action register, the decision log, and the intake process for new tools and use cases.

Priority Governance: establishes the baseline and stands up the records.

Your organization: designates an Internal Governance Liaison and connects us with the appropriate people and information.

Days 31–60 · Operate

Begin the Operating Cycle

We review new activity within the agreed intake, maintain the records, track actions and decisions, escalate specialist issues, and issue Status Brief #1 at the end of the month.

Priority Governance: operates the cycle and delivers the brief.

Your organization: participates in the leadership check-in and makes the required business decisions.

Days 61–90 · Operate + Recommend

Operate, Report, and Recommend

We continue the governance cycle, issue Status Brief #2, and provide a Day-90 recommendation on the appropriate ongoing governance model.

Priority Governance: reports and recommends.

Your organization: decides whether to continue, adjust the scope, transition defined responsibilities internally, or stop.

Month 1 establishes the baseline (with a short priorities note where useful). The first full Monthly AI Governance Status Brief comes at the end of Month 2, and the second at the end of Month 3.

Scope

A Defined Function, Not Unlimited Consulting

Fractional AI Governance is an operating function with an agreed scope. That means a set amount of governance work each month, agreed up front and matched to that scope, handled through the normal monthly rhythm — so what is included is clear on both sides.

Materially higher activity, a major new initiative, or work requiring substantial standalone analysis may move into a later governance cycle or be scoped separately. Some work is properly a specialist’s rather than ours. We identify which applies rather than allowing scope to expand without agreement.

Clear boundaries

Governance Coordination Without Replacing Your Existing Experts

Priority Governance manages and coordinates the governance process. Your leadership retains decision authority, and legal, privacy, security, HR, IT, and other specialists remain responsible for work within their professional disciplines.

Priority Governance

Recommends next steps, coordinates reviews, records decisions, and tracks required actions within the agreed scope.

Your Leadership

Decides, approves, and retains organizational authority and accountability. Names an Internal Governance Liaison to gather information and route questions; provides timely decisions and access to leaders and specialists.

Your Specialists

Implement technical, legal, security, privacy, and HR work where needed. Priority Governance coordinates the handoff and records the outcome.

What Fractional AI Governance Does Not Include

  • Legal advice or legal representation
  • Cybersecurity implementation, technical security testing, or a security assessment
  • Privacy counsel or regulatory interpretation
  • HR implementation, investigations, or employment decisions
  • AI engineering, model development, or technical evaluation of AI systems
  • Regulatory certification, a compliance determination, or a formal audit
  • Emergency-response services such as incident response or forensics
Fit

For Organizations That Need Ongoing Governance Ownership

Fractional fits when AI use is expanding, stakeholder questions are increasing, and policies alone have not established a recurring process. Your Internal Governance Liaison gathers high-level information about material tools, use cases, and vendor changes. Leadership joins the monthly check-in and makes decisions when needed.

If you have an internal owner, Control Center may provide the structure you need. For a one-time alignment need, consider the QuickStart Workshop.

After the pilot

No Automatic Renewal

The pilot does not renew automatically and does not roll into a preset permanent plan. At Day 90 we look at your actual AI activity, how much governance work came in each month, how complex it is to operate, and what reporting you need. Then we make a recommendation on the appropriate ongoing governance model. The decision is yours.

Questions

Questions Leaders Ask

Do We Need a Policy Already?

No. Existing drafts are useful but not required. We help keep any drafts you have current as decisions are made and help you agree the ones that matter.

Do We Need a Complete AI Inventory Before Starting?

No. We establish a baseline around your known and material AI activity and expand that record through the governance process — we don’t require an exhaustive inventory up front.

How Is Pricing Determined?

Pricing reflects the scope and operational complexity of the engagement — the volume of AI activity, how much governance work comes in each month, and the reporting required — not headcount. Monthly pricing is not published. Engagements generally begin with a focused 90-day pilot priced for that defined scope. Once we understand the scope, you get a specific price for it in writing before anything begins.
